Meet our Teachers
Jane Chipp
Jane is a textile, collage, assemblage and book artist. She works mainly with found objects, nature, old papers and photographs and is never happier than when wandering around a flea market, beach or forest, finding items to use in her art.
Jane’s art tells stories and captures memories, is nostalgic and often poignant. She loves combining old photographs and papers with household or natural objects to create personal artworks.
Jane teaches online and in-person, both in the UK and overseas. Her courses share techniques and structures for students to explore their own stories, true or imagined, through the use of found materials, nature, and photographs.
In 2021, Jane co-wrote ‘Artful Memories: How to make unique art with old photographs’ with Jack Ravi.
Jane has exhibited internationally, including the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition in 2024.
She lives in Plymouth, UK.

ALTERED PHOTO REFERENCE BOOK
In this two-day workshop, Jack and Jane will introduce a wide range of techniques for altering vintage photographs, like painting, collage, stitching, image transfers, writing, layering, tissue prints, and more. They will also show us how to repurpose a vintage book into a personal reference guide, a place to gather and store all these creative explorations, so you can return to them whenever you need ideas to fill a page in your journal or add interest to your books and projects.
