Meet our Teachers

Letitia Thompson

Letitia Thompson is a full-time fine artist living in a small village in North Lincolnshire.

Following a career in art education spanning thirty years, Letitia has recently taken early retirement so that she can now devote her time to working in mixed media and acrylic.

Personal narratives, imagined characters, village life and the Lincolnshire landscape influence her intuitive painting practice.

The compositions and imagery are never planned, stories that are hidden in the initial layers of spontaneous mark-making are allowed to emerge and evolve.

Letitia studied Fashion and Textiles BA (Hons) Degree at Central St. Martin’s College Of Art And Design, followed by a PGCE in Art And Design at Brighton University.

Her work has been exhibited in open, group and solo exhibitions in the UK.

Intuitive Gel Plate Printing

From Simple Motifs To Complex Layers

In this relaxed, experimental workshop we shall be developing simplified, abstract motif designs and incorporating them using a variety of printing techniques using a gel plate. We will build up layers in a pressure-free, spontaneous way to create complex, multi-faceted surfaces.

Your prints can be completely abstract or incorporate motifs that may introduce a narrative quality to your work. No previous printing experience is required, this workshop is perfect for all levels of experience.

I’m so looking forward to meeting you all for two print-fuelled days of messy fun!
